Ullapool Community Trust

Ullapool Community Trust is a development trust established to deliver projects that benefit the economic, social and environmental interests of the Lochbroom community. This community encompasses Elphin, Strathcaniard, Rhue, Ullapool, Leckmelm, Braemore, Lochside, Dundonnell, Scoraig, Badcaul and Gruinard (see map below). Our top priorities, as voted by the community in 2021 are: affordable housing, employment and training, environment and climate.

In 2017, with assistance from the Scottish Land Fund, the Trust purchased The New Broom, on Argyle Street.  This is a community hub and charity shop which promotes the circular economy and reduces the community’s contribution to landfill.
