What they said:

2025 marked our third year participating in the Community Land Ownership Festival, and what a fantastic celebration it was! Our goal was to create a fun, welcoming, and informative event for everyone – both our local community and friends from further afield. We reached out to even more community groups, local businesses, and elected members this year, and made sure to spread the word with leaflets, posters, a huge banner, and plenty of social media buzz. Even though it was school holiday time and many were away, nearly 400 people joined us to celebrate Inchinnan’s community land achievements!

The day was packed with activities: free soup, inflatables, face painting, and lots of local information. Our place plan team was on hand, gathering valuable feedback. There were craft stalls, gifts, holistic offerings, a friendly visit from the fire brigade, and a tuck shop run by the village store. We were also treated to cultural music from Fèis Phàislig. Special thanks to the provost and the leader of the local authority for attending and showing their support.

Outcomes and Community Feedback:

The feedback has been wonderful! Of course, there are always a few who missed out and said they didn’t know it was happening – despite all our efforts. We’ll keep working to make sure everyone feels included next time.

The event is getting bigger and better each year. We had a sensory room this year which was well received and needed for some. The free vegan soup went down a storm as well as all the free stuff for the little people. The LPP team had a big map of Inchinnan which was enjoyed by many, mostly trying to find their own houses.

Challenges:

The weather and pulling it all together on the day..
