The Future Sustainability of Highland Communities #2: Climate Mitigation
The second in our three part series of events looks at how communities can contribute to the national effort to address climate change and adaption. Learn what’s happening from communities both locally in Caithness and Sutherland, and across Scotland, that are already involved in this critical issue of our time.
What will a Just Transition mean for our communities and how can we ensure that the benefits of reaching Net Zero are fairly shared?
Our panel of speakers include Magnus Davidson, leading commentator on Highland issues , Joan Lawrie, Development Manager at Thurso Development Trust, Chris Dalglish from Inherit Institute, and Calum Macleod, Policy Director at Community Land Scotland. Isle of Eigg Trust Director, resident and artist, Lucy Conway will be talking about what the community of Eigg have been doing to reach 100% renewable energy generation, reduce energy use, developing their own woodland and creating a local circular economy.
