Aigas Community Forest

c/o North View, Crask of Aigas Beauly IV4 7AD

Aigas Community Forest was established in March 2009 in response to Forestry Commission Scotland declaring the 270 hectare Aigas Forest in Strathglass near Beauly as surplus land. ACF applied successfully through the National Forest Land Scheme to purchase the Forest but with changes in the funding regime at the Scottish Land Fund and BIG Lottery have not been able to secure purchase funding.

As of 2018 Aigas Community Forest was acquired by the community. Over the last few years we have developed the forest to the benefit of the community with the felling of timber and the building of paths. We now have an active volunteer base and an established training operation.
