An important milestone has been reached on the Lochboisdale Harbour Development project.
The core components of this massive infrastructure project have been completed on time and within budget and to a particularly high standard.
On October 13th the new 10m slipway was completed by MacInnes Bros. the Benbecula based contractor carrying out the construction works. The slipway, along with roads, causeways, breakwaters, servicing and utilities are now complete.
Over the next few months MacInnes Bros will complete installation of the 52 pontoon berths, ground works for the new seven acre commercial area and the facilities block. The landscaping and reinstatement works will also be completed.
Lochboisdale Development Ltd. Chairman, John MacMIllan said, ‘We are delighted that this regionally and nationally important development is progressing on time and on budget. The £10m development will transform the area and create a range of opportunities for local businesses to grow and flourish.’
