Fire Stories: We Make the Road by Walking
2 November 2024 * 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Celebrating a Century of Community Land In Scotland
The Craigallian fire, wisnae just any old fire, legend has it that fire burned continuously for over 20 year. It was hearth from home for the folk that felt her warmth. Men and Women escaping the hardships of industrial life, the dirt and drudgery of poverty. When work was scarce fire sitters tramped and dossed all week heading back only to collect their dole. The fire beckoned, it called to them. And its siren song promised a better life, a life of socialism and freedom, full of beauty and poetry under the wide and starry sky.
Come sit by the fire, bask in her warm glow. Relax, soak her up. Listen to her crackle. Can you hear it? Join us for a relaxed afternoon of Chat, Song, Poetry, Film and Performance as we share histories and stories of The Craigallian Fire, Radical Glasgow, Scottish Land Reformers and the Community Spirit of Easterhoose!
This event is free, but registration is required.
