Community Right to Buy Consultation Event

Scottish Government is undertaking a review of Community Right to Buy legislation. Since this right was established in 2016 very few communities have successfully employed it. Common challenges include the bureaucracy of the process and the onus on communities to prove the success of their project. Urban communities have also faced unique challenges when exercising this right.

We are hosting this event to bring together our Members and other communities we’ve worked with to share insights and experiences. These contributions will help shape Community Land Scotland’s response to the consultation, ensuring that community voices are fully represented. We also hope the session will be useful for any community groups preparing to submit their own responses.

Join us as we work to identify and overcome the barriers to the Community Right to Buy, and advocate for a more accessible, streamlined process that truly empowers communities to take ownership of sustainable assets.
