Response to the SLC Advice on Part 1 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill

We welcomed the introduction of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill in March 2024 and have engaged since then to provide the necessary scrutiny and significant strengthening needed to make the legislation meaningful.

We were pleased to see that the Scottish Land Commission (SLC) had published further advice on amendments to Part 1 of the Bill. Whilst we agree with most of SLC’s recommended changes, there are several areas of the Bill which require further strengthening and development.
