Response to the passing of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill 2025

We have published a statement in light of the passing of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill on Wednesday 5th November 2025. We welcome the Bill’s passing and believe this is a step forward for land reform legislation in Scotland.

In our response we discuss the positive mechanisms that have been introduced by the Bill, what further measures are needed in the future to meaningfully change the fundamental inequality of landownership in Scotland, as well as the importance of ensuring this legislation is enacted swiftly to ensure it is as impactful as possible.
