At the Heart of Communities: Shops and Pubs

Join Community Land Scotland and four guest speakers from community owned shops and pubs, Iain McNicol – Appin Community Cooperative, Peter Sutherland – the Black Bull pub in Gartmore, Alison Lamond – Morebattle Community Shop and Hannah Ewan – Community Carrot Dunbar to hear about how each of these organisations developed their plans, how they acquired funding for their projects, the hurdles they faced, how the local community got on board and all the benefits that community owned shops and pubs have brought to their communities. We are also delighted to welcome Chris Cowcher from the Plunkett Foundation and Morven Lyon from Community Shares Scotland. Chris and Morven will be sharing their experience of supporting communities across the UK and Scotland to purchase their local shops and pubs.
