The Upper Eskdale Development Group (UEDG) was established in 2006 to benefit the residents of Eskdalemuir parish in Dumfries and Galloway. Its mission is to enhance the community’s well-being and promote sustainable development and regeneration.

In 2007, UEDG purchased the disused Eskdalemuir Primary School and transformed it into the Eskdalemuir Community Hub, which opened in 2014. The Hub serves as a focal point for community activities, offering a café and bar, a village shop, an art exhibition hall, and rooms available for hire. It hosts various events, including workshops, musical performances, film nights, and art exhibitions, and aims to cater to the diverse interests within the community.

Their objectives encompass promoting sustainable development, providing recreational facilities, advancing education, and improving health and well-being within the community. UEDG is committed to making Eskdalemuir a better place to live by addressing the needs and interests of its residents.
