Sustainable Cupar was founded in 2009 and since then have been working to make the town more eco-friendly, healthy, and future-proof. They focus on energy, transport, nature, and community life.

Greener Energy
• They’re planning a system that would recycle heat from things like sewage water to warm local homes and buildings.
• A local wastewater plant already has solar panels that save energy and reduce pollution.

Walking and Cycling
• They’re creating safe routes so people can walk and cycle across Cupar without using busy roads – especially for kids going to school.
• They want to reduce traffic speeds to 20 mph in town to make streets safer for everyone.

Nature and Food
• They take care of community orchards and plant trees and wildflowers along the River Eden.
• They encourage people to grow and use local fruit.

Cutting Plastic Waste
• They helped cafés, pubs, and restaurants switch from plastic straws to paper or eco-friendly ones.
• Local students helped create posters and raise awareness.

Improving the Town
• They support fixing up old buildings and making better use of empty spaces.
• For example, a closed Argos store is being turned into a community food hub.

Sustainable Cupar is helping to:
• Cut down pollution and energy use
• Make it easier to walk or bike instead of drive
• Protect nature and green spaces
• Improve public spaces and buildings
• Bring the community together
