Nairn Improvement Community Enterprise (NICE)
- Nairn Improvement Community Enterprise (NICE)
Nairn Improvement Community Enterprise (NICE) was established to make the town a better place to live, work and visit.
They:
-
Speak up for the community
-
Lead local improvement projects
-
Help decide how Nairn should develop in the future
-
Bring local people together to agree what Nairn needs (better facilities, greener spaces, improved town centre, etc.).
-
Work with the council and funders to turn those ideas into real projects.
-
Can apply for funding and sometimes take charge of buildings or land so they stay in community use rather than being sold off.
-
Created a community plan that sets out what people want for Nairn over the next 10–20 years.
-
Lead projects like improving public toilets, riverside areas, and open spaces.
-
Make sure changes in the town are shaped by local voices, not just outside developers or distant decision-makers.
-
It’s run by a volunteer board of local people and anyone from the area can usually join as a member and have a say.
