Cleish Village Trust

The Trust became an official charity in 2024 when a group of local people decided to try to save the old Cleish Church and keep it for the village. The Church of Scotland wants to sell the church. Instead of it being bought by a private owner or developer, the Trust is raising money so the community can own it.
The idea is that the building would still be used by local people for things like:
-
- community meetings
- concerts
- weddings
- funerals
- exhibitions
- other village events
Its main challenge is raising enough money to buy the church and then cover the ongoing costs of maintaining an old historic building.
