Beatroute Arts

Beatroute Arts owns the community building known as ‘The Beatroute Arts Centre’ (formerly East Balornock Youth Centre) and surrounding grounds, having completed an Asset Transfer from Glasgow City Council in April 2021. From this community-owned hub, Beatroute Arts runs a year-round programme of free communty-led arts, music and holistic programmes and stand-alone events for local people, particularly vulnerable members of the community such as young people, adults with additional support needs and older people. The organisation aims through these programmes of activity to address themes and priorities as they emerge in an area of identified deprivation. The organisation also lets its spaces out to other charitable groups, and to members of the local community for private functions in order to A) provide affordable, multi-functional spaces within easy reach for local people and B) generate much-needed income in order to maintain the building.
