Join the new Community Led Housing Alliance and help secure greater support for local action on housing
We are working with partners to lead the newly-formed Community Led Housing Alliance, which was launched earlier this week. The purpose of the Alliance is to campaign for greater support for community led housing in advance of the next Scottish Parliament election in 2026.
Action on housing is critical for our communities to grow and thrive and, across Scotland, local organisations are leading efforts to meet their communities’ housing needs. But sustained and increased support is needed from Scotland’s politicians, Parliament and Government.
Over the coming months, Alliance members will collaborate to:
- develop a shared vision for community led housing in Scotland;
- evidence why community led housing matters, what communities have achieved so far, and what collectively we could achieve in the next five years with the right support;
- develop shared proposals for how community organisations can best be supported to meet local housing needs, and;
- campaign for the adoption of these proposals by Scotland's main political parties and sustained and enhanced support from the next Scottish Government and Parliament.
Membership is free and open to any community/local not-for-profit organisation with an interest in housing, from those having initial conversations about the issues to those who have already brought homes into community ownership or delivered a new housing project. Members will be able to engage in the Alliance through a series of in-person and online meetings and events, and by other means.
To sign up, please fill out the online Alliance membership form, which only takes a few minutes to complete.
We hope that you will join this vital initiative, contribute to creating a collective voice for communities leading on housing, and help secure greater support!
