Community-owned land and buildings and community-led projects build lasting local wealth. They create jobs, support local businesses and keep income in the community.

This year, our Regional Gatherings will explore how the strength we build in our own projects can lead to stronger, more connected communities.

Over the course of two days, delegates will take part in two study visits, a shared dinner and a workshop. We’ll explore what makes community ownership work well and what helps projects thrive in the long term. We’ll also look at what it takes to build a strong foundation for community ownership, and how that strength can be translated into lasting benefits for the wider community.

We will also explore how we tell that story. How can community landowners share the story of their work and impact with their community, partners and funders? And, on a larger scale, how do we tell the story of what community landowners are achieving in Scotland?

Expect practical examples, open conversations, peer learning and plenty of opportunities to connect with other people. We welcome participants from communities at all stages of their community ownership journey.

Important Information:

Registration includes accommodation and dinner on Thursday evening, followed by breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout Friday. Accommodation and dinner will be in Kilmarnock.

We have a very limited budget available for travel bursaries. If travel costs would otherwise prevent you from attending, please indicate this as part of your registration.

To help us make the best use of the funds available and support attendance from across the network, we kindly ask organisations and individuals who are able to meet their own travel costs to do so where possible.

We are keen to maximise the number of organisations represented at the gathering and are therefore initially offering one delegate place per organisation.

If you would like additional colleagues to attend, please note this on your registration form. Should spaces remain available after the initial allocation, additional places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
