Pairc Trust Pairc Community Festival
26 October * 10:30 am
The Pairc Trust is excited to host a walk and talk in the small village of Calbost in partnership with Pairc Historical Society. The walk will be family friendly and at a leisurely pace, with specific areas and points of interest e.g. the black house ruins, identified and their historical significance discussed. The walk will start at the barn on the Calbost/Gravir road where there is ample parking and a possible shelter and talk if the weather is inclement. While the walk and talk will only take a couple of hours, the distance walked is relatively small with a round journey distance of around 1.5 miles.
After the walk, the community will be invited to attend Ravenspoint Centre for a community BBQ. This is weather dependent and if unsuitable catering will be provided indoors. There will be an opportunity for discussions and for the Trust to engage with residents to plan the celebrations for our 10-year anniversary of community ownership of the Estate which takes place next year!
We will also have Hebridean Baker from Cromore joining Ravenspoint at 3pm on his book tour for the launch of his new cookbook, ‘The Scottish Cookbook’. He will provide a talk which will include stories and songs from the island. Following on from this, there will be a Q&A, and he will also be signing books!
