Community Ownership Roadshow: Prestwick

We are stocking up on cakes and coffee, and visiting communities across Scotland to share inspiring stories of community ownership. On 26 September, in partnership with Friends of the Broadway Prestwick, we will host an information session to share with communities the benefits and opportunities of community ownership.

The session will feature:

*  An introduction to community landownership: how can it help your community? How do you start? Who can help?

*  Information about communities’ rights to register interest in land or buildings

*  An overview of the support available

*  The inspiring community ownership story of the Friends of the Broadway Prestwick, who took Prestwick’s iconic Art Deco cinema, the Broadway, into community ownership in April of this year. Hear about their journey, their learning and their plans for the building.

After a few short presentations, there will be ample time to ask questions, and to meet with representatives from the Scottish Land Fund and Community Land Scotland.

Following this, attendees will have the opportunity to get a sneak peak into the Broadway.
