Community Land Festival

A celebration of community landowners
Community Land Festival is an annual national celebration of community landownership in Scotland, highlighting the work, impact and achievements of communities that own land or buildings.

First established in 2018 as Community Land Week, the event evolved in response to community feedback. In 2023 it was extended from one week to two weeks and rebranded as Community Land Festival. Since then, it has continued as an annual festival, with each year bringing a programme of events, stories and activity reflecting the priorities and experiences of community landowners at that time.

This page provides an overview of Community Land Festival. Details of each year’s festival – including themes, events and resources – can be found by following the links to individual festival pages below.

Community Land Festival is coordinated by Community Land Scotland and the Scottish Government Community Land Team, working closely with other membership organisations that support community owners of land and buildings.
