Community Landowners’ Toolkit: Applying Negotiation and Influencing Skills

Representing your community landowner at meetings with public bodies, developers, agencies and the wider community can be intimidating if you’ve not had any training. We want you to feel confident that you have the negotiation and influencing skills you need to make an impact.
Whatever your background, this training will provide you with the tools and techniques needed to negotiate and influence effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Whether persuading someone to take action, influencing decisions, or addressing a lack of understanding, this course provides actionable strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve successful outcomes.
Session Two: Applying Negotiation and Influencing Skills
Thursday 6 March * 14:00 – 16:00
Interactive session facilitated by Ailsa Raeburn and Amanda Bryan
In this interactive follow-on session, community landowners can learn from two experienced ‘influencers’ who have long been involved in community landownership and have experience on multiple Boards and stakeholder groups. They will share their learning about how to be effective in internal and external meetings. Attendees will then have an opportunity to share their own learning and challenges. By focusing on practical situations, this session will help participants build confidence and find effective solutions for their challenges.
Only 1 ticket available per organisation unless spaces become available. If you would like to book more than one place, please contact us separately.
Please note: Once we have received your registration, we will check that your organisation meets the criteria for this session and will be in touch with you to confirm your place and how to join the session. Spaces are available on a first come first serve basis.
