Community Land Week returns this year in an expanded celebration that will run from the 13th to the 29th of October for the fifth Scotland-wide celebration of community landowners. Any geographic community that owns land or another asset, from an estate to a woodland to a community centre, can apply to run an event as part of the week.
Community Land Week is coordinated by Community Land Scotland and the Scottish Government Community Land Team. The festival first ran in 2018 when fourteen communities from across Scotland took part with events ranging from guided walks across community-owned land to ceilidhs and study visits. Since then, with the exception of 2020 (when the celebration was of necessity paused), Community Land Week has become an annual event that allows communities to tell their stories, spotlight their acheivement, and eat cake.
