Providing a voice for community land ownership
Tha Fearann Coimhearsnachd na h-Alba mothachail gu bheil mòran nar ballrachd stèidhichte ann an sgìrean far a bheil grunn de luchd-labhairt na Gàidhlig. Tha sinn a’ creidsinn gu bheil fearann, dùthchas, agus cànan dliù ri chèile. Chan fhaighear fìor cumhachd coimhearsnachdan mura h-eil luach a’ chànain air bhrosnachadh.
Community Land Scotland recognises that many of its member bodies are located in areas with a high proportion of Gaelic speakers. We believe that land, cultural heritage, and language are closely interlinked. Community empowerment can only truly take place where the language of the people is valued and promoted.
Ann a bhith a’ cruthachadh àrainneachd seasmhach dhan Ghàidhlig airson an àm ri teach, thathar mothachail gur e an dleastanas againne a th’ ann gus an cànan a chleachdadh mar dhòigh conaltraidh agus gu làitheil, far a bheil sin iomchaidh agus ciallach.
We recognise that creating a sustainable future for Gaelic requires a commitment to use the language in communication and everyday use, as appropriate and relevant.
Maoin Coimhearsnachdan Gàidhlig / Gaelic Communities Fund
Chaidh a’ mhaoin phìleatach le Fearann Coimhearsnachd na h-Alba a stèidheachadh ann an co-bhanntachd le Bòrd na Gàidhlig ann an 2021. Tha a’ mhaoin ann gus taic a thoirt do bhuidhnean coimhearsnachd gus cleachdadh na Gàidhlig a bhrosnachadh taobh a-staigh nam pròiseactan aca ann an dòigh a freagarrach do gach sgìre. Bidh gach pròiseact a fhuair maoineachadh a’ cur ri amas Plana Cànain Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig gun tèid a’ Ghàidhlig a cleachdadh nas trice, le barrachd dhaoine ann am barrachd shuidheachaidhean.
Community Land Scotland, with funding from Bòrd na Gàidhlig, started the Gaelic Communities Fund in 2021. This funding provides support for community organisations to deliver projects that boost Gaelic, a key community asset, in a way that is appropriate for their area. Each project that has been funded is working towards the aims of the National Gaelic Language Plan so that Gaelic is to used more often, by more people, and in more situations.
Bidh urrasan coimhearsnachd a’ dèanamh obair fìor luachmhor air feadh na dùthcha. Bha an dà chothrom maoineachaidh fosgailte do dh’urrasan fearann coimhearsnachd agus urrasan dualchas coimhearsnachd sna h-Eileanan A-staigh agus sna h-Eileanan Siar. Bha deich buidhnean soirbheachail gus maoin fhaighinn agus bidh na pròiseactan a’ tighinn gu crìch ro dheireadh an t-Sultain 2022.
Community organisations have a track record of invaluable work throughout Scotland. The two rounds of funding were open to geographically based community organisations in the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Ten community groups successfully secured funding and will be completing the projects by the end of September 2022.
