DESCRIPTION:The North Harris Trust is currently implementing its Habitat Regeneration Programme\, planting thousands of native Hebridean trees in Gleann Lacasdail\, Trolamul\, and Beinn Tharsainn. \nAll are welcome to volunteer time and energy in helping us support our woodland and biodiversity by coming along to plant birch\, alders\, rowans\, and much more alongside our staff. \n  \n \nThis event is part of Community Land Week\, the festival of community ownership in Scotland. In 2023\, nearly 50 communities from across Scotland will celebrate\, with events ranging from guided walks across community-owned land and mushroom cultivation workshops\, to pumpkin festivals and ceilidhs. \nLearn more.

DESCRIPTION:Old Trees of Harris \nThe hills of Harris hide the remnants of our ancient Hebridean woodland\, a secret often unknown to most. \nCome with the North Harris Ranger on this short walk to Gil Luisge\, in Gleann Bhìogadail\, and discover a hidden grove of a hundred native trees and the plant life they sustain. \nHiking boots are necessary as most of the walk will be off-path\, and a good level of fitness is expected as terrain will be steep. \n  \n \nThis event is part of Community Land Week\, the festival of community ownership in Scotland. DESCRIPTION:An Dàmhair: Deer Walk in Gleann Langadail \nCome with the North Harris Ranger on a hike to witness the rut of the Red Deer. The walk will take us through Gleann Bhìogadail and down to Gleann Langadail\, where the North Harris herd often gathers to bellow and fight. Golden eagles are likely to be seen as well. \nHiking boots or wellies are necessary as part of the walk will be off-path\, and a good level of fitness is expected for a walk of about 12km/8 miles. \n  \n \nThis event is part of Community Land Week\, the festival of community ownership in Scotland.
