The Corbelly Hill Convent in Dumfries is a beautiful 19th century B-listed building that has been unused and in disrepair for over 30 years. It is one of the most special places in Dumfries and has been off-limits to the community while we watch it decay. UnConventional will attempt to buy it with the intention of starting a community centre with a focus on education and skill sharing. With over 45,000 sq ft of indoor space and 8 acres of outdoor green space, we believe that the property could serve the community in a variety of ways that promote sustainability. In addition to education, we are considering artist studios, a hostel, wedding venue and a restaurant.
