Community ownership is not just about land and buildings. In their quest to build strong local economies, many community landowners have also developed marine-based assets. In this session, attendees will hear from:
- Morven Gibson of South West Mull and Iona Development which is establishing the largest seaweed farm in the UK
- Cally Fleming and Moray Finch of Mull and Iona Community Trust which set up and runs the pontoon at Ulva Ferry
- Anne Fraser of Tobermory Harbour Association, a community owned Hub Port that has had Statutory Harbour Authority status since 2017
Following presentations from the speakers, participants will engage in a short Q&A session.
This event is part of our Meet the Pioneer series which aims to showcase the achievements of community landowners across Scotland and provide a platform for them to share their experiences and learning with others.
