Join Community Land Scotland and PAS to learn more about community ownership and planning.
About this Event
This session will provide an introduction to community ownership and land reform for planners and other built environment professionals. It will include:
- A (brief) overview of land reform, with examples of the transformative impacts community ownership has had over the last 20 years.
- A discussion of the challenges and opportunities for community ownership in towns and cities, since community right to buy was expanded to urban areas in 2016.
- Next steps in land reform, including the 2020 Right to Buy for Sustainable Development and introduction to the Community Ownership Hub which will be piloted in Glasgow and the Clyde Valley area.
- Key points on integrating Community Ownership into planning practice
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and explore the subject in more detail.
This session is open to everyone however will be primarily aimed at planners.
