Join Carnegie UK Trust and Community Land Scotland for a two-part webinar series exploring the opportunities and challenges associated with community ownership in towns.
The challenges facing towns are not new but have become even more acute over the course of the pandemic. With a real need to rethink the regeneration of towns beyond the high street, our aim is to facilitate a thought-provoking and enlightening event that brings together a range of perspectives from some of the pioneering groups taking on this challenge. We’ll be looking at the holistic approach required to tackle key issues and the innovative thinking required for community ownership to really shape the future of towns.
Part One: Project Showcase – Midsteeple Quarter, Dumfries
Monday, 25th January, 2-3pm
Join the Midsteeple Quarter team for an in depth dive into their plans and journey so far and what the reality of community ownership and community-led development in towns really means.
Part Two: Panel Discussion
Tuesday, 26th January, 2-3.30pm
We will be joined by speakers from Power to Change, The Stove Network, Greener Kirkcaldy and Nick Wright Planning.
Please contact Kristina Nitsolova, Urban Development Officer, at kristina.nitsolova@communitylandscotland.org.uk or 07508 421886 should you have any questions about the event.
