The Community Empowerment Act (Scotland) 2015 presents new opportunities for communities to own and manage assets in their communities. A core element of this is the extension of the Community Right to Buy to urban areas and expanded availability of the Scottish Land Fund in urban as well as rural areas.
This workshop will give inputs from the COSS (Community Ownership Support Service) team at DTAS on new opportunities for asset ownership, the Community Right to Buy team at the Scottish Government, the Scottish Land Fund on the new extended fund and support that launches in April 2016 and the BIG Lottery on their new and upcoming grants programme for communities.
Ideal for community groups interested in owning and managing local land and buildings and wanting to find out more about the new opportunities that may be open to them. Also good for community support workers and other advisors giving advise to community groups.
