Bridgend Farmhouse (community owned and run since 2015) is delighted to launch and open our very own eco-bothy, play area and accessible compost toilet.
These have all been designed and built by volunteers over the last 7 years, all using traditional and sustainable methods and materials, with support from expert green builders and architects, and help from SEDA (Scottish Ecological Design Association). Volunteers and a local stone-mason have also restored the surrounding perimeter walls using traditional lime-pointing techniques.
This event is a celebration of collective achievement, desire and perseverance, and of new exciting spaces to be used. There will be a ceilidh band, music performances, storytelling, face-painting, puppetry, tours, food and more.
