Community Land Scotland is a member- led organisation, whose day-to-day work is led by directors and staff implementing our vision for fairer land ownership, where communities have strong rights over their land and community ownership is a normal option throughout Scotland.
We were set up in 2010 by representatives from 17 community land ownership organisations to be the voice of the Community Land Sector.
Our current work includes supporting community ownership, advocating for repopulation in the face of increasingly inflated land markets, building a more inclusive community land movement, and supporting communities throughout urban and rural Scotland to deliver on their aspirations for owning land and buildings. We’ve concluded that our work will be even more effective if we include more perspectives and experiences in our organisation. For that reason, we are putting out our first open call, beyond our membership, for Board Members since our establishment in 2010.
We are looking new Board Members who are committed to our vision for community ownership and land reform, and will bring new expertise to our organisation. We are particularly interested in hearing from those working on these issues in places with growing numbers of community land owners, such as towns and cities.
Full details on what we’re looking for, and how to apply, here.
Although our official call closed on Monday April 25th, interested individuals are still welcome to get in touch to discuss the opportunity. Contact Carey Doyle at firstname.lastname@example.org.
