Donald MacKenzie, now resident in Glenfarg grew up on what was then the Great Glen Cattle Ranch in Lochaber. Latterly, his father ran Inverlochy Castle Farm. Donald is now retired from being Child Protection Officer for Dundee and devotes his time to photography, His photographs are not pretty pictures of the land but instead he wants his images to stimulate thought about the use we make of land. He’d love to get more involved with some of the members of Community Land Scotland.
Donald says, “As I was growing in the 60s and 70s, I could see the opportunities for young people staying on in their communities was getting less and less. That angered me then and it angers me now. Community Land Scotland is the vehicle that we can be aboard to reverse this and see our land returning to being the place where people live and work.”
